Different Types of Shapewear
Shapewear are garments worn under clothing, usually by women, to hide or create a desired shape from their figure. These are made for many parts of the body including stomach, thighs, flanks, breasts and backsides. The chest and backside are the only two areas that women will usually work to make them appear larger; the others are more often concealed. Like anything shapewear comes in different styles and strengths. Hosiery based garments are made from a material that feels much like pantyhose. This is on the lighter side strength-wise and is used mainly to smooth out small bumps usually caused by cellulite. Compression like shapewear is more heavy duty and is made from Lycra or Latex materials. For occasions where you want to suck in a tummy pouch or give your waist a more hour glass shape compression shapewear is the way to go. A good general rule of thumb is hosiery is made to smooth out appearances and compression garments are made to conceal.
