Invest in a Decent Marine Battery Before Going to Sea

Summer is a wonderful time of year for going out on your boat, but a lot of people fail to make sure that the marine battery they have is in good condition, or even of the right type. There are stories of people being rescued from the open sea with nothing more than an old car battery to power the motor, which is foolish at the best of times, and potentially fatal.

Automobile batteries are not designed to be heavy-duty enough to provide the cranking power that is needed on many boats. It is essential that you check with a battery supplier to make sure you have the correct grade and type of battery that is required for your particular boat.

Safety on open water should be your number one priority and considering the fact that a decent quality heavy duty marine battery can be purchased for no more than a couple hundred dollars, it seems foolish not to buy one.
